It is very hard I think to get a good shot of any sort of ruins, as the colors are often drab and uninteresting and the subject matter can be boring. Here though, the color palette is diverse enough to be interesting without being overbearing. Also, the lighting is great, with the light coming in from above and the dark room ahead. The door itself is the best part of the image, as there is some sort of mystery as to what is in the next room. The location was chosen well; enough is left to be able to tell what is going on but still look very run down. The natural image(without a lot of post processing) makes the image that much more impressive. With so many great qualities, this shot is fantastic.
